Hi I’ve been a single Dad now for about 7 months and have limited access to my daughter due her mum setting boundaries. However I feel that I have the right to more frequent access as twice a week isn’t enough for me to keep a relationship with 3 yo daughter who I feel needs more time with her Dad. So im finding this situation very difficult at the moment. Anyone have any advice.
Hi Will,
Sorry to hear you have “one” of those ex wives! It isn’t fair and she can not do that. She might think she can and doesn’t realise all she is doing is hurting her daughter. Always maintain your calm, provide her a written letter outlining a parenting plan that is fair and something you can commit too. See our parenting plan article for tips on how to write one. I also recommend you get legal advice, speak to Daniel Dalli at:

I know he has helped Dads successfully turned those situations around. Make sure you have a place set up, have the time and can make that time a priority for her. Its also important to be patient. Best wishes
